The Queen’s Birthday

Fifty years ago, a little girl named Robin Loretta Schley was born. She was the seventh child, an auspicious beginning, if you look at it from a fairy tale point of view. (Which I try to do as much as possible). As she grew up, she came to love her birthday more and more, so much, in fact, that people who knew her well began to call her the Birthday Queen. And though she isn’t here today to celebrate her half-century mark, her birthday legacy is so powerful that we celebrate it without her.  Happy birthday, Mum.
