Spring Morning

I had a lovely walk this morning–everything was rain washed and fresh, the birds were singing mightily, and the sun was valiantly attempting to break through the cloud cover from last night’s storms.  When I got home, I went on a walk-about in my garden and found many things to make me happy:

Daffodils:

Baby Bleeding Hearts:

And Forsythia:  (when I was little, I also thought it was "forcynthia" after my aunt Cynthia)

  1. Spring has advanced much more in Ohio than here in Chicagoland. As always, I love your pictures! I hope to be posting some spring pictures of my own someday soon!

I like your forcynthia story. When I was a kid, I thought my middle name was “Aunt Ann,” after my aunt (obviously). I called myself Jennifer AuntAnn McGuiggan. And James, whose middle name is Chester (after his grandfather) thought that a chest-of-drawers was a chester-drawers.

Did you know that Chad always thought that in the Star Spangled banner it was Whose, instead of who’s? MUAHAHA, what an obvious mistake.

  4. Faith says:

Ah. The lovely signs of Spring. Always a joy this time of year in Northeast Ohio. Allyson, your garden is going to look gorgeous this year, as always.

  5. Chad says:

    um, it is whose.
what i thought was… “Whose BROUGHT stripes,” instead of “broad stripes.”

  6. Allyson says:

Hey Joe & Chad! This is my blog! Take your anthem quibbles elsewhere! We’re being happy about spring here, not debating the words of the Star Spangled Banner!

  7. Chad says:

Hey, it’s not my fault Joe’s a moron.
