Faith and I had a Day o’ Fun on Monday, just like old times. We hiked at Whip’s Ledges, and made friends with slugs and toads. [It made me think of that old fairy tale where the good sister has flowers and jewels fall from her lips as she spoke, but the wicked sister had toads and snails fall from hers. I looked around the the jewels, but I guess only the wicked girl was out on Labor Day.] Then we lunched outside at Panera and saw Heidi and Jordan TWICE while driving to and from Montrose. The second time, Heidi kept trying to have a conversation with me through the window, but we were doing about 50 mph on 18, so I had to just shake my head and drive away. Mostly she just wanted to tell Faithy that she and her family were coming to Heidi’s for dinner that night.

DAY O FUN!! Good times. Excellent hike, fabulous lunch, and awesome dinner at Heidi’s. Incredible Gumbo. Mmmmmm. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. It was a great day, a great way to end a mini-vacation. 🙂
