An Emma Day

This girl seriously is the funniest person I know, and she doesn't even try. I took some videos of her singing while coloring today. I won't post them, because I don't want her to someday be embarassed by it, but I will tell you some key lines: (most of the song was about Christmas)

". . .it's Christmas Eve!

We had a little party and it was as fun as steve!

Steve, steve, steve, breakfast is the lunch!

Steve, steve, steve, breakfast is the lunch!"

There was a lot more along those lines. She's really into rhyming these days. Anyways, right before her mama came home, Emma was eating an apple. All of a sudden, she gasped and looked up at me with a wide-eyed smile. Her tooth had fallen right out of her mouth, and she hadn't even known it was loose! One thing you need to know about me is that teeth gross me out more than anything. Don't show me your loose teeth. Don't show me how you can wiggle them back and forth. Don't ask me, go away. Yet, she was SO happy about losing the tooth that I picked it up off the carpet and gave her a tissue for her bleeding mouth. That shows my dedication to this family. Kristen, I hope you are noticing! I even took a picture of her proud, gap-toothed face. It's a bit icky, if you aren't into teeth. I have trouble looking at it myself.

Later, after safely placing the tooth in her tooth pillow thing and discussing the possibility of a visit from the Tooth Fairy, Emma looked at her apple. It was covered with bloody toothmarks. (shudder! ick!) She looked about as green as I felt. "Just go throw it away," I told her, weakly. It had already fulfilled its purpose.

The whole experience was as fun as steve.

Oh my goodness, Allyson! I was laughing soooo hard when I read this! I laughed first at Steve, Steve, Steve, breakfast is the lunch, but by the time I got to your description of teeth, I was guffawing out loud! I, too, am grossed out by teeth and have been thankful that we have not come to that point in this house yet. I don’t know what I’ll do when we get there. My stomach was churning at the bloody apple part and the laughter started up again as I read your weak response to her unasked question about the apple. Well written, Allyson! I could identify with each gut-wrenching word that you wrote!
(Congratulations to Emma for losing her tooth…I guess!)

I am soo proud of you for handling the tooth and taking the picture!! You do know that one day you are going to have to do this in your own house? I didn’t even know she lost a tooth…they are all getting so big!
