60 degrees + free afternoon = BIKE RIDE

Today was a gift from God–a little bit of spring in the midst of January! I wore my long-sleeved jersey and my long tights, and I was TOO warm! In January! I loved it though. I am rather ashamed to admit that I haven’t been on my bike since July. That double century really took it out of me, and I was too burned out to even think about it for months. When cycling finally started to sound fun again, it was snowing. But today, I took advantage of the capricious weather and hit the road. I didn’t go very far, only about an hour’s worth. I am not in the shape I was in, but I still did pretty well. I was worried that I would be tired and sore and miserable the whole time, but I wasn’t. I don’t think I have breathed as much in the past six months as I did today. Hopefully, this winter will have some more brights spots like today, or I can just buck up and face the cold weather on my bike. It is so worth it.

How did YOU enjoy this beautiful day?

Good to hear that you got out on your bike and could take a nice ride. I still don’t like the fact that there wasn’t any snow for me when I was at home.

How did I spend my beautiful 79 degree weather yesterday? Unfortunately, I was inside working. 🙁 Glad to hear you were able to get back out on the bike though. 🙂

The kids and I worked on a fairy house made of very wet pinecones and they scootered til dark… it was a gift of a day and today looks like more of the same! It is such a tease though, since tomorrow will be cold again…. makes me want to move to a warmer climate, that’s for sure!
Glad you got out and RODE! Bicycle Bicycle BICYCLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh yes, I enjoyed this beautiful day as well! I took little Billy out around the yard and showed him all the things little babies have never seen before. And then I packed him up in the stroller and went for a nice walk to get some exercise of my own. He, of course, slept the whole time. 🙂 It was a great day.

ohhhh- riding bikes & showing babies trees are just too precious for me today. must be the hormones 🙂 as for me, I am airing out my car with the windows open while I’m inside at work. smells like something died in there. i think some food is in there, but I can’t bend over anymore to reach under the seats (luke said he’ll look). anyhoo- driving to a business call this afternoon, will enjoy driving with the windows open, breeze blowing and singing to some great music!!! 🙂
