10 Years: The Joy Part

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.    Psalm 116:15

Mum 2

The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart;

devout men are taken away, and no one understands

that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.

Those who walk uprightly enter into peace;

they find rest as they lie in death.   Isaiah 57:1-2

Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.  I Thessalonians 4:13–18

Parents B&W

Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed–in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come try:  "Death has been swallowed up in victory."

"Where, O death, is your victory?

Where, O death, is your sting?"

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  I Corinthians 15:51–57

    OH! Your pictures are perfect. Each one tugged a little further on my heartstrings- she was all of those women at the same time- you could never be certain who you were connecting with at any given moment (although I was always playing with that little girl in the gloves and hat- she was a constant!) Let us give thanks to the Father for giving us such a precious gift of Robin in out lives. Now I’m crying and can’t see to type. Love-me

    Please know that I’m keeping you in my thoughts and prayers today Allyson. The pictures and scriptures you chose were wonderfully perfect.

    Maybe we didn’t get to “all go to Jesusland together” but we still will all get there. I miss her. And I missed not getting to know her more as I got older, knowing her as an adult. Sometimes I think about what she and grandma would think about this or that or how it would be if they could be apart of particular moments in my life that they have missed. Thanks, Ally, for the pictures and the memories and for sharing your cards and letters with me. When I read them, they remind me of someone I’ve lost. But they also bring back, if only for a moment, her voice and they let me see her from your eyes as well as mine. I remember the confusion and sadness ten years ago but I am also so glad, ten years latter, to see the woman that you have become. There are times you remind me so much like your mother. I love you.

    Wow. I wasn’t prepared for the reaction I had when I saw that first picture of Aunt Robin pop up on my screen. It took my breath away and now I’m crying like Aunt Heidi. My deepest memory of your mom will probably always be in Grandpa and Grandma’s bathtub with your mom and Aunt Heidi drawing smiley faces on my knees! One of my favorite memories is of her unending smile on your wedding day, despite the circumstances! I love the pictures, Allyson, and the promises!

  7. This is a beautiful tribute, Ally.
