I’ve only been thinking about it for the past three years or so, but now I’m ready to try it. I want to start a photography business, doing shoots for people in their homes or other locations that mean something to them. I gave some photos to the father of the children I nanny yesterday, and he was just blown away. The beauty of his children took his breath away: I want to do that all the time.
I had my first real shoot on Wednesday, and it was so fun and they turned out so well. I don’t want to post photos of other people’s children on the internet, but just believe me when I say that Karen’s granddaughter is a cutie-patootie.
I so want to do this!

Yea! I am SO SO SO happy you are going to do this!!
You have an amazing talent, Allyson! I have always thought so! This is a wonderful thing. I am so happy for all the people who will be hiring you to preserve thier memories!
Congratulations on your new venture! I’m so excited for you.
Good for you! As you know I also run my own photography business. If I can help at all let me know.
Hey Allison,
Luke’s little sister here 🙂 I think I’ve met you a few times, right? Anyway, stumbled onto your blog from Luke and Hannah’s. Just wanted to say I think you have an awesome eye for photography… and if you do start that business, even just on occassion, let me know or pass it on through my brother because I’d be interested in tagging along or teaming up with you. I don’t have professional schooling, but I’ve been using a 35mm Canon Rebel for a few years and my dad’s 35mm (that he had in college) before that. Maybe we can swap portfolios some time?
I’ll be doing a wedding in the fall, and some more on my next mission trip to Papau New Guinea next summer. I’m ALWAYS up for a photo shoot!
If not, I still think you’ve got what it takes, and that inspires me. 🙂
Email me at Charismaka@gmail.com and we’ll chat about it!
You have my full support sister. That’s so awesome! I’ve always thought your pictures are amazing. You are a very inspiring person. You go girl!
