PUMPKINS!!

Soooo, today Chad and I drove 2.5 hours to Circleville.  Why, you ask?  Why, to go to the Circleville Pumpkin Show, silly!  It was way fun, super cool, a whole lot better than you’re thinking it was. Hey, pumpkins are really exciting.  They’re happy and bumply and … and. . . and orange.  Check out my cool pics:

Oh, and not ALL pumpkins are orange.  Check out this beauty–my new blue-grey pumpkin that only cost 5 bucks:

My Second Birthday Lunch

Dan’s Dogs!  I love Dan’s Dogs!  My wonderful sweet friend Amber, and her sweet friend Amy (I guess she’s my friend too now!) brought me flowers and took me to my favorite hot dog joint.  I got the Zorba the Greek dog, which vies with the Rueben Dog as my all-time favorite dog.  Besides Rocky.  Amber tricked me and got me a birthday sundae.  They even played "happy birthday" on the juke box.

My First Birthday Lunch

Today the Aunties took me to the Pine Tree Barn for lunch!  It was sooooo yummy!  I got this wonderful pasta dish, and then we had sour cream black raspberry pie with ice cream.  SIGH. . .

My_lunch Heidi ordered their crepes and Cynthia ordered the pizza of the day.  We all had tea becausee we are feeling kind of sinusy today, but the water was not hot enough until the very last pot!  But it was a happy lunch, a yummy lunch, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.   I heard a joke from the table next to ours (I am an incurable eavesdropper!)
"Hell is where the French are the mechanics, the Germans are the policemen, and the English are the cooks."   I thought it was funny.

Here is my wonderful pie. . . .

Pie2 Aren’t you all jealous?

On the way home, we passed this pumpkin patch, and I just had to stop to take some pictures:

I’m so happy that I was born in October!

Tomorrow is my second birthday lunch.  Lucky me!

Who was that masked man?

Img_1594

Here he is, my clever Chad.  It may look like an ordinary Target bag, but it is actually a highly sophisticated device.  We were tooling around North Olmstead tonight, which is experiencing some sort of infestation of nasty, creepy little flying bugs that look like mosquitoes but aren’t.  They were absolutely everywhere!  Chad was feeling very creepy-crawly, so he invented this Anti-Bug Helmet.

SIGH.  I knew I married the right guy!

A Decades Party

Today we celebrated all of the decade birthdays in the family.  Three of us are turning thirty, two are turning forty, one turned 60, and Heidi & Frank are celebrating their 30th anniversary.  We went to Hubbard Valley Park and totally FEASTED on lots of yummies.  Pot Luck family parties are always the best!

We don’t have to move

Ok.  So I was a bit over the top in my last post with my whining.  And everything is ok now, I just wish I could have had more faith when circumstances were uncertain.  Kim’s comment was very encouraging–thank you!

Yesterday and today have been rainy, and so I have been crafty!  First of all, proof that I do occassionally clean my craft room:

Chad walked in today and said, "Wow honey!  Your craft room looks so fun! "  I just beamed at him.

This is my favorite layout from my marathon scrapbooking session.  Faith and I both agreed that it’s so cute we want to throw up:

Just a Little Whine

I can’t help it.  I really need to have a little fit here, and then maybe I’ll be ok.

I really don’t want to move.  I really don’t want to have to get a job.  I really don’t want to turn 30 in 9 days.  I really don’t want to have to get the house ready to sell if we have to move.  I really don’t want to move.  I’m really tired of my face breaking out, especially since I’m going to be THIRTY and you’d think that by now I’d be past all this acne stuff.  I’m really tired of feeling yucky and phlegmy and stuffy.  I really don’t want to move.

Ok.  I feel better now.  I’m just saying.

Booths

So yesterday, we’re on our way to Hinckley when Luke calls and asks us if we want to go to Appleby’s to get some booths.  We’re like, booths?  But we decided it sounded intruiging, so we went.

Img_1507

These are the booths.  They are crusty and greasy and kind of ugly, but they are also free.  So here is the Andrews-mobile ready to take the booths to their new home in the Inside Out Youth room.  Billy and Chad really got into it:

I really need to mention that when Luke asked Chad to come get booths at Applebys, it really sounded like, "You want to go get some booze at Appleby’s with us?"  And Chad was like, "What?"  Hee hee hee!

Being Sick, and Other Excuses

Ok.  So it’s been over a week since I’ve posted anything.  Mostly, it’s because I really haven’t had anything interesting to post, but I think I will just blame it on being sick for four days.  Here I am sick with my main cheer-er-uppers:

However, although this week has been Blah, there were some highlights.

I’m hoping for a razzle-dazzling week!  And I just want to say HELLO TO KIM!   It’s so nice to hear from you!

Happy Birthday Bilbo! Happy Birthday Frodo!

I just want to say that I was completely obsessed with The Lord of the Rings before the movies came out.   For example, when I was fourteen, my best friend Sandhya and I celebrated Sam’s birthday.  We gave each other presents and ate cake.  Fast forward 16 or so years.  I still am completely obsessed with The Lord of the Rings.  I hum the songs in the books to little tunes I’ve made up.  I can write "farewell" in Elvish runes.  I even know what "Elen sila lummen omentielvo" means without looking it up.  In other words, I am a really big dork.

Anyways, today Heidi and I went over to Mary Jane’s and had a Hobbit party.  It snowed food and rained drink, as they say, and although we didn’t have any fireworks, we did have presents.  Long live the Bagginses!

Quote of the Day

"When bicycles first became popular in the 1890s, some feared that riding into the wind at high speed would cause permanent disfigurement, or "bicycle face."
