I worked hard to get this! Heidi and I went tramping in the woods of some of her friends, and we pulled this stuff out of the trees. Most of it did NOT want to come down. And it’s been sitting on my porch for a week, waiting for me to work up the courage to attempt The Garland. I’ve only been talking about putting up grapevine garland on my porch since moving in five years ago. Yeah. FIVE years ago.
How does it look? I think it needs something. We do not have any outlets on the porch, unfortunately, so no lights yet. I’m trying to talk The Man into installing some for me, since he’s all about wiring lately.
It should look more festive in a day or two, once we get the snow that they’re forecasting. I hope we get the snow. It’s so dreary with all the mud and rain.

Yeah, it’s all dreary mud and rain here, too. Snow is more difficult to get around in, but it’s so much prettier and more festive (festiver?). Lights would definitely brighen up the garland. Tell The Man there is consensus and that he should get to it. Would winding a thin red or white ribbon through the grapevine look tacky?
can you snake lights out the craft room? looks nice though 🙂 maybe some white or glittery snowflakes to catch the light…
It needs some color and texture-lights would be good. I still think that english ivy twisted around it and red berries(like with holly or rosehips) would make it pop.
You could try ribbon-but then you’ll have to change it or take it down after the holiday season. Anyway.I’m glad you put it up.
Jordan has arrived in HI and they were headed for the Dixie Bar and Grill.
