- God rest ye merry, gentlemen
- Let nothing you dismay
- For Jesus Christ our Saviour
- Was born on Christmas Day
- To save us all from Satan's power
- When we were gone astray
- O tidings of comfort and joy,
- Comfort and joy
- O tidings of comfort and joy
- In Bethlehem, in Israel
- This bless

Well said! This has, at times, and more often than many others, been my favorite carol also, for many reasons. My teenaged son once showed me the alphabetized list of his long and eclectic choices on his iPod and this song was there in 8 different versions! I guess he likes it, too.
I love these posts, Allyson. Thanks for putting them together. God rest ye merry!
Yes!! You remain my Christmas hero(although that could be sacraligious-Jesus is the all-time Christmas hero. So you are my Christmas icon pointing me toward the real hero of the season). I’m so thrilled to read your entries each day-they make each carol more dear. You have great tensile strength ,my Christmas icon !
Thank you, Allyson. This, too, is one of my favorites. The words of the first verse of this song alone have always encouraged me.
Hey Roger! It’s great to hear from you. I’m glad you were encouraged.
