ha ha ha! This is one of my most favorite photos of my parents. Chad and I had been married for about two months when Halloween rolled around. Mum & Dad came over to Grove City, bringing costumes, decorations, food, and helping us celebrate. (Melissa, do you remember this? I have pics of you and Jack with those crazy knife ears on!) This was our first Halloween together, and my last Halloween with my mum. We had such a good time–my parents were always up for fun and silliness.
Happy Halloween, everyone. Stay safe and have fun passing out candy to the kids. My favorite passing-out-candy memory happened a few years ago, when a parent urged his small child to thank me. "What do you say?" he asked her.
She thought a moment, then chirped out:
"Excuse me!"
Talk about making a person cry! This one should have come with a WARNING- Nostalgia and tears and laughter ahead! Your dad with that Charlie Brown smile and band aid on his finger made me cry as much as Robin’s eyes looking out of that hideous mask!
