Been Busy Bikin’

I have been LOVING this weather! Warm, sunny, beautiful! Still a bit on the windy side, but I’m hoping that will calm down soon. I had a great team ride on Sunday, the "Medina Meander," a gruelling 49 mile loop with lots and LOTS of BIG hills. I think I must be getting better, though, because I only had one episode of near-hysteria when I went into panic mode and wanted to cry and quit all at the same time. It was during one of the last big hills, and the group I had been riding with kept getting smaller and smaller in the distance. So I just stopped for a moment to catch my breath, and then I could keep going. Can’t underestimate the power of short breaks! My group waited for me, and we breezed through to the finish. The sun kind of got me, though. No burns, but I felt like I had roasted my brain–major headache the rest of the day. Hopefully, I’ll get used to it soon. We have a 60 mile ride this upcoming Saturday, but it is billed as "easy-to-moderate." OF course, our coach, Benny, has been known to stretch the truth and even LIE about the rides to keep us from not coming.

Then yesterday, I went out to the Towpath for a recovery ride with Karen and Jess. We did about 10 leisurely miles, and it felt great! Another beautiful day.
