A little party for the tastebuds

Yesterday was Family Stamping Day, and while the stamping was fun, it was nothing compared to the feast everyone brought! A while ago, Meredith sent Heidi a package of oils and vinegars she'd purchased while in New England. Stuff like "Fig Balsamic Vinegar," and an olive oil called "Nocellara." Seriously, with names like those, how can it NOT be good? Heidi brought bread, I provided little plates, and we were off!

If you read Liz's blog, What's Going On Around Here, you will see a wonderful recipe for soup. God bless her, the woman brought the soup to our gathering yesterday. Here are some photos:

Yum- you didn’t tell the best part- about the cute little bottles of elixirs that you got to take home and keep! Or about the cute little boxes! Oh- it was all the best part- just spending time together enjoying all that we do! I’m looking forward to tomorrow and Meet me in St. Louis- with a chili chaser!

We were so deep in our political discussion that I didn’t offer to share any leftovers as we packed up. Sorry about that! (But my kids were unspeakably grateful!)

I’m envious (a sin, I know) of your time and your food! How fun to be able to enjoy each other regularly.

But I AM family!!! And I still miss out on those goodies. 🙁 It may be a good thing, though, because some of your goodies don’t always look like they’re easy to be eaten while trying to practice self-control.
