He is not here

Four of the most beautiful words in any language.

"He is not here. He is risen!"

And that is the point to just about everything!

Favorite verse from my favorite hymn from my favorite holiday:

Vainly they watch His bed–Jesus my Saviour!

Vainly they seal the dead–Jesus my Lord!

Up from the grave He arose, with a mighty triumph o’er His foes;

He arose a Victor from the dark domain,

And He lives forever with His saints to reign:

He arose!  He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

[Jenn and I always thought this song sounded like an old English drinking song, especially the chorus, which isn’t too off-base, since a lot of old hymns had common tunes that used to have other words.  But hey, I’ll drink to this!]
