Totally thrilled to see this beauty on the side of the porch today. I took photos and sent him to my dad for identification. But then, being impatient and rather nerdy, I looked it up myself on the internet. This is a Pandorus Sphinx Moth, which likes grapes and virginia creeper (neither of which grow in my garden). It’s fairly large, and I’m trying to restrain myself from poking it to make it fly. I want to see that wingspan!
WOW! That is a big moth. It’s beautiful. Just one more creature to show God’s creativity and awesome design.
