I woke up this morning before it was fully light, and after peaking out through the blinds, was happy to see the white world. I have never lost that child-like delight in going to bed with grass and waking up with snow! I put up the blinds, pulled back the curtain, and lay in bed watching the snow fall and the dark, naked branches against the white sky. When I was growing up, I had a huge picture window in my bedroom. Because no one lived behind us, and we were sort of in the country, I never had a covering on that window. I miss it–sitting up when I can't sleep to study the world at night. Someday, I want that again, a big window with no blinds at night. I don't like feeling hemmed in.
Anyways, I've been taking a bit of a break from the blog since Christmas, but I do have some photos from the past few days.
We went on a field trip to Wayne County on Saturday with the Clotworthys and the Aunties. The Post House was a hit!
Then I got to hang out with this girl for a little lunch and shopping!
And it's a spectacularly bad photo of both of us, but you get the idea.
And this is just because it cracks me up. Myles gets staticky in the car:
Happy New Year!

I love the picture of Myles! I’m glad you are blogging again- I miss hearing your version of the events!
